The Texas Air Force F-16 crashed on Thursday during a training mission near the town of Green Lake in the state of Michigan. The incident led to the evacuation of areas surrounding the crash site due to a leak of hazardous chemicals.

Incident Details

The crash occurred around 2 PM Eastern Time, and immediately afterward, local officials began evacuating homes and businesses within a one-mile radius of the crash site. The Michigan State Police announced that this action was taken due to a leak of chemicals related to the aircraft crash.

According to reports, the evacuation order for the surrounding areas was lifted at 9:45 PM on Thursday, and residents were allowed to return to their homes.

Pilot's Condition and Consequences

The pilot of the aircraft successfully ejected and was transported to the hospital. He is currently under care and, according to officials, is alert and communicating with law enforcement. No other injuries have been reported in this incident.

After the crash, a black smoke cloud was observed at the scene, and all Texas Air Force aircraft currently in Michigan for training were immediately grounded. This situation will continue for the next 24 hours.
