Nvidia has predicted that its chip sales will double next year. Jensen Huang, the company's CEO, stated in an interview that strong demand for artificial intelligence in various industries and economies is the main factor behind this prediction.
High Demand for Artificial Intelligence
Huang, on the eve of an artificial intelligence summit with King Charles III in Scotland, said: "I expect Nvidia to sell twice as many chips next year compared to this year." He also pointed to the increase in investments in the field of artificial intelligence in various countries, stating: "This phenomenon can be observed in almost all the countries we operate in. People want to invest in artificial intelligence."
Rapid Growth in the Semiconductor Market
This prediction indicates Nvidia's rapid expansion over the next six quarters. The company recently forecasted that its revenue growth for the fiscal year ending January 2028 will reach 70%, likely bringing its annual revenue to around $673 billion. Nvidia does not provide specific information about the number of chips it sells, but its well-known products include data center graphics processing units, including the Blackwell and Rubin chips that support the development and performance of advanced artificial intelligence systems.
Last year, Huang announced that Nvidia sold 6 million Blackwell graphics processing units in the past four quarters. In addition to GPUs, Nvidia produces central processors, network switches, optical network chips, laptop processors, Jetson systems for robots and vehicles, as well as the processor used in the Nintendo Switch 2 console.
Focus on AI Safety
During this summit, which also included representatives from Google DeepMind, OpenAI, and Anthropic, Huang discussed artificial intelligence safety. Concerns about the risks posed by more advanced AI models are increasing. Huang stated in this regard: "When a product is not safe, we must stop it and continue engineering it."
