According to a study, 57 percent of German companies with 20 or more employees use artificial intelligence. However, the most concerning aspect is the feeling of uncertainty and worries about the threats posed by this technology.

German companies with 20 or more employees, 57 percent of them now use artificial intelligence, which is nearly three times more than two years ago. This information is based on a study published on Monday by the German Digital Industry Association.

Benefits of Using Artificial Intelligence

In this survey conducted among 603 companies, two-thirds of users reported that their competitive position has improved. Additionally, nearly half of the companies have been able to accelerate their internal processes or achieve measurable successes.

Concerns and Barriers

However, more than a third of companies are particularly concerned about their survival and future, and a third of AI-using companies have admitted to adopting this technology out of fear of falling behind. An increasing number of companies feel that European regulations hinder their progress.

Ralph Wintergerst, head of the Bitkom Association, stated: "We see a lot of trust in artificial intelligence, but there is also uncertainty." He added: "The same companies that identify AI as a key technology in the coming years express concerns about the threats that this technology may pose to their existence."

This study also shows that most users are still in the early stages of adopting artificial intelligence, and no company believes it has fully exploited the potential of this technology.

The legal situation, particularly in the form of the European AI Act, is recognized as a major barrier for companies. Two-thirds of the business community generally believe that this law brings more disadvantages than benefits for German companies.
