The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) have intensified their anti-terrorism efforts in the Gaza Strip in recent weeks. These operations aim to eliminate Hamas terrorists and reduce the group's reconstruction efforts.
Details of the Anti-Terrorism Operation
On Monday, the Israeli army continued its anti-terrorism operations across the Gaza Strip, carrying out five targeted strikes against Hamas terrorists. At least four terrorists involved in command and force construction positions were killed throughout the day. One of the senior Hamas commanders from the Gaza brigades, named Ahmad al-Batsh Abu Azam, was killed in an airstrike on his vehicle.
Another terrorist was hiding in a tent in Khan Younis, which is currently under the control of the Israeli army in its southern part. The army and Shin Bet also struck targets in Deir al-Balah, al-Tuffah, and near al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, where the army had conducted an operation against a weapons storage facility last week.
Precise Targeting Based on Intelligence
All these attacks were carried out based on intelligence obtained from Shin Bet and military intelligence. In recent weeks, the army and Shin Bet have intensified anti-terrorism operations against Hamas terrorists in Gaza. Other targets of these operations have included officials involved in the reconstruction of the terrorist group and the revival of its military capabilities in Gaza.
The Shin Bet's Nili unit, established in 2023 to track and kill Hamas members involved in the October 7 massacre, is also working on identifying terrorists involved in this attack. Security forces have also focused on damaging Hamas's ability to procure weapons. Over the past two weeks, the air force has targeted approximately 20 of this terrorist group's weapons storage facilities, as well as workshops and laboratories used for weapon production.
