Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) killed Naim Abu Obeid, the commander of Hamas's Rafah Brigade, in an airstrike in the Gaza Strip. This action is part of ongoing military operations against Palestinian armed groups.

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) targeted and killed Naim Abu Obeid, the commander of Hamas's Rafah Brigade, in an airstrike in the Gaza Strip. Abu Obeid had succeeded Mohammad Shaabaneh in May 2025, who had been killed by the IDF in the same year. This operation reflects Israel's continued military pressure on Palestinian armed groups.

Details about Naim Abu Obeid

Naim Abu Obeid was recognized not only as the commander of the Rafah Brigade but also as one of the key figures in Hamas leadership. He previously served as the deputy commander of the Rafah Brigade and also commanded the Tel al-Sultan and Yebna brigades. During his command, Abu Obeid led terrorist attacks against Israeli forces and planned military operations against the IDF.

Following this attack, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, and Izhar Katz, the Minister of Defense, emphasized that "our message is clear: no terrorist is safe, and Hamas will not remain in Gaza." These statements reflect Israel's firm determination to continue military operations in the region and address security threats.

Recent IDF Operations

IDF also announced that on Monday, in cooperation with Shin Bet, they targeted and killed the commander of Hamas's Jabalia Brigade in an attack in the Gaza Strip. This individual, named Ahmad Batash, was responsible for managing logistics for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades in northern Gaza and played a significant role in supplying weapons and equipment for Hamas terrorists.

In the past week, IDF and Shin Bet also killed Mohammad Yazouri in the Khan Younis area. Yazouri served as the commander of Hamas's Khan Younis Brigade and was responsible for managing the brigade's terrorist activities. This series of operations demonstrates Israel's aggressive approach towards Palestinian armed groups and efforts to reduce security threats in the region.

IDF stated in a statement that they remain deployed in the area and will continue their activities to eliminate any threats. These actions clearly demonstrate Israel's commitment to maintaining national security and confronting extremist groups in Gaza.
