A British couple has decided to move from Britain to Australia. This move, which marks their seventh relocation between countries, seems to be one of the most difficult of these transitions. Despite considering themselves minimalists, their shared life experiences and the collection of mementos have resulted in them facing a larger volume of belongings than they had anticipated.
Selecting Items to Keep
International relocation means they must limit their belongings to what fits in three suitcases. The couple has also asked their family to provide space in their storage for some items. In this regard, they must make tough decisions about the items they will leave behind.

One of the couple's favorite items is a special jewelry collection they have gathered during their travels. The husband's mother has gifted them a beautiful box to store and display these jewels. This modular box is from a reputable brand and matches their home design well. It will be kept as a memento in their guest room.
Emotional Items and Their Replacement
The couple also has a number of wedding photos, travel souvenirs, and hand-painted artworks that decorated the walls of their apartment. Deciding on emotional items can be sentimental, so they followed a simple policy: if something is printable or replaceable, they should let it go. Empty frames were donated to second-hand stores, and printed photos were recycled, while items that couldn't be replaced were stored in a box.
The couple is also attached to a set of pots and pans from the brand Our Place that they received as a wedding gift. Although these items take up a lot of space in their suitcase, they cannot cook without them. The larger pans have been placed in storage, and the small pan has been donated to charity, but the small pot and pan set will be sent to Australia.
As a writer and editor in home decor, the couple has spent a lot of time researching various brands and visiting pottery workshops around the world. Therefore, they have also moved some of their favorite cups and mugs collected from Denmark, Portugal, and Japan to storage. The rest of the items have been given to loved ones or sent to charity.
Throughout their career, the couple has had the opportunity to test and review various candles. They have always kept a collection of scents available for each season. However, when they realized they had four boxes of candles to sort through, they decided to donate all of them. Travel candles will likely go with them to Australia, but larger home fragrance devices will definitely not be coming along.
Finally, the couple faced challenges with their DIY decorative items. They encountered a plethora of art supplies and crafts that were either used or left unpackaged. Opened or unusable supplies were sent for home recycling, and most of what remained was donated to the county's creative reuse center.
