Silver prices are influenced by various factors including industrial demand and investments. An analysis of the silver market performance shows that this precious metal plays an important role in various industries.

Silver prices, as one of the precious metals, are influenced by various factors including industrial demand and fluctuations in the global market. This metal, with the chemical symbol Ag, is used in various industries such as electronics and renewable energy due to its high electrical conductivity.

The Role of Silver in Various Industries

Due to its unique properties, silver has wide-ranging applications. This metal is used in the production of jewelry, coins, and bars as an investment asset, as well as in the production of electrical equipment, automobiles, and solar panels as a raw material. For example, it is estimated that around 657 million ounces of silver will be used in industrial applications by 2025.

Additionally, technological changes and demand for new products can impact the silver market. For instance, the development of data centers and artificial intelligence infrastructure increases the need for electronic equipment, while solar cell manufacturers seek to reduce silver consumption in their products.

Factors Influencing Silver Prices

Silver prices depend not only on industrial demand but also on supply. A significant portion of silver is obtained during the extraction of other metals such as lead and gold. Therefore, an increase in silver prices may not quickly lead to an increase in supply. Furthermore, recycling silver from products and industrial waste also helps meet market demand. In 2024, it is expected that nearly 194 million ounces of silver will be returned to the market through recycling.

Silver-producing countries, including Mexico, Peru, and China, play a key role in meeting global demand. Estimates suggest that silver production in Mexico will be around 6,300 tons in 2025. Iran, as a silver producer, produced about 2.8 million ounces of silver in 2023, which is considered a small figure compared to global production.

Silver prices are typically determined based on troy ounces. Each troy ounce is equivalent to 31.103 grams. Therefore, a $50 silver price means $50 for 31.1 grams of pure silver. The global price of silver in physical and financial markets is determined based on supply and demand. The London market is one of the main centers for determining silver prices, and prices are set daily based on electronic auctions.

Overall, silver prices are influenced by various factors including the value of the dollar, interest rates, the economic status of industries, and investor activities. In this context, the inflow and outflow of capital from financial and physical markets can have a significant impact on silver price fluctuations.
