Martin McCluskey, the UK Energy Minister, stated in a session in the House of Commons: "We are clearly providing air defense to Saudi Arabia through our defense partnership." McCluskey said: "We are in contact with the Saudi government and the legitimate government of Yemen and are closely monitoring the situation."
Saudi Arabia has recently confirmed that the East-West pipeline has been temporarily shut down due to an attack that occurred on September 11. However, the Saudi government has not yet provided further information about the duration of this shutdown, raising concerns about its financial and economic impacts on the Saudi economy and the global oil market.
The UK Energy Minister also referred to the country's efforts to work with international partners to find a permanent solution to this conflict and mitigate its impacts on households. He added: "We are looking for ways to protect families from the effects of rising energy costs."
A spokesperson for the UK Prime Minister's Office also stated that the Houthis must immediately cease their attacks and emphasized that Saudi Arabia and Yemen have the right to defend themselves.
