The commander of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced in a press conference that over 1 billion barrels of crude oil have been moved from the Strait of Hormuz in the past two months, while Iran has not exported any oil under the U.S. naval blockade.

Admiral Brad Cooper, the commander of CENTCOM, announced this achievement in a video released on social media, stating that U.S. forces have assisted over 2,000 commercial vessels in passing through this strategic waterway. He stated: "CENTCOM forces have supported the movement of over 1 billion barrels of crude oil that have exited the Persian Gulf. This figure has been achieved in the past two months."

Increase in Commercial Traffic
Admiral Cooper emphasized that this success has been achieved while commercial traffic through the Strait of Hormuz continues to increase. He said: "We have reached this important point while assisting over 2,000 commercial vessels in passing through this strait, which indicates building a strong momentum." The Strait of Hormuz, which connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman, is one of the most important energy transportation routes in the world.
Cooper also added that the main shipping lanes through this strait are clear of mines, and thousands of vessels have passed through this waterway. He emphasized: "Over 1 billion barrels of oil have been transported from Gulf partners through the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran has not exported a single barrel, which is due to our strong blockade."
Iran has protested the U.S. claims that the blockade has completely halted its oil exports, with Iran's Oil Minister, Javad Owji, stating last month that exports have decreased but Iran continues to deliver oil to its customers.
Cooper also noted that the volume of crude oil, cargo, and liquefied natural gas in the past two weeks has been higher than at any time in the past six months. He stated that CENTCOM is working with all six member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council along with insurance and shipping companies to increase commercial traffic through this waterway.
He added: "We are also working with every partner in this region, aiming to strengthen air defense, form a new unit of attack drones, and keep the Strait of Hormuz and its surrounding waters open."
