The consumer inflation rate in Poland rose to 3.4% in August, the highest level since June 2025. This increase is attributed to significant growth in transportation costs and housing and utility services.

The consumer inflation rate in Poland rose to 3.4% in August, showing a significant increase from 3% in July. This increase marks the highest inflation rate since June 2025, when the inflation rate reached 4.1%.

Increase in transportation and service costs

The inflation rate in the transportation sector reached 11.2%, a significant increase from 7% in July. This rise is due to high fuel and oil costs for personal transportation equipment. Additionally, price growth in the housing and utility services sector reached 4.6%, and in the recreation, sports, and culture sector, it reached 6.5%.

Decrease in food and clothing prices

Meanwhile, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages faced a decrease of 0.9%, and clothing and footwear prices also dropped by 2.9%. Overall, on a monthly basis, prices increased by 0.3% in August, which is significantly lower than the 0.8% increase in July. In the preliminary report, the price increase was announced as 0.4%.

This increase in the inflation rate in Poland could have significant implications for the country's economic and financial policies. Analysts believe that this trend may put more pressure on the Polish central bank to make new decisions to control inflation. Given the global economic conditions and supply chain crises, Poland's economic situation has been severely affected.

In light of these developments, it is expected that the Polish government and central bank will take measures to address this situation. Further investigations in this regard will be conducted in the coming weeks.
